Who we are
Stone & Barrow Construction Ltd ("we", "us") is a building company registered in England and Wales, company number 16164516. We are the data controller for information collected through this website.

What we collect
We only collect what you give us. Specifically:
- Enquiry details. When you use the contact form we collect your name, phone number, email address if you give one, the type of work, the location of the property, and whatever you write in the message.
- Nothing else. This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and includes no advertising or tracking scripts. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
The one exception is the map on our contact page, which is embedded from OpenStreetMap. When that map loads, OpenStreetMap will see your IP address, as any website you visit would. Their privacy policy governs that.
Why we use it, and on what basis

How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become jobs: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Completed projects: 6 years after completion, which is the limitation period for contract claims in England and Wales. Structural and warranty records may be kept longer where a guarantee runs longer.
- Financial records: 6 years, as HMRC requires.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to anyone for marketing. We share it only where the job needs it:
- Subcontractors and suppliers working on your project, and only what they need
- Building control and the local authority where an application is required
- Our accountant, and our insurers if a claim arises
- The email provider that delivers enquiries from this website to our inbox
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it, where we do not need to keep it for legal or contractual reasons
- Restrict or object to how we use it
- Provide it in a portable format
Email info@stonebarrowltd.com and we will respond within one month. If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office atico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Security
This website is served over HTTPS. Enquiries are transmitted encrypted and delivered to a password-protected mailbox. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold to a minimum, which is the most effective protection there is.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing clients will be notified directly.
